The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for assessing, planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. Providing care consistent with the goals and philosophy of Hillcrest South and with standards of nursing practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Oklahoma.The RN will deliver quality care by offering excellent customer service. All employees participate within a team centered approach towards patient care. The RN must possess exceptional communication skills, critical thinking skills, and independent decision making skills. General responsibilities include: patient assessments, holistic care involving patient families, the ability to delegate tasks, display proficiency in order entry, and Meditech. The RN must also assist the department manager in staffing the department in a safe and cost effective manner. Occasional assignments outside the department may be required. RN’s may participate in the care of patients from adolescents to geriatrics. Must observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of Hillcrest South. Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and Hillcrest South. Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action.Must participate in safety instructional programs.
